Our Core Classes
Practical Precision 101
Students will explore the basic concepts behind long range shooting, and many times learn that they are far more capable than they previously thought. This class focuses on the theories behind ballistic calculation and wind effects, how to effectively use a ballistic calculator, and applying that data to the gun and verifying the results downrange. Proper shooting fundamentals will be covered and any adjustments that need to be made to the shooter or their equipment will be addressed.
PRS-1
PRS-style shooting is a dynamic form of long range shooting competition involving multiple shooter positions, multiple targets set at varying distances, and stage time limits. Students will explore this concept, and learn basic organizational and mindset techniques to set themselves up for success behind the gun. Target acquisition and positional stability techniques will be covered, as well as effective equipment management and efficient stage planning.
Intro to Precision Rifle Reloading
Students interested in loading their own precision rifle ammunition will get a chance to do so in a supervised environment, no gun or ammunition required. Class starts with shooting for groups at 100yds with factory ammo, and then those pieces of spent brass will undergo processing, terminology and techniques will be discussed, and each student will load 5 rounds of improved ammunition to re-shoot and compare group sizes and velocities to the factory ammunition.
PRS-2
Students will explore the next step in PRS competition and be held to a higher standard of accuracy and effective wind reading. Target sizes will be reduced, more target and position transitions will be introduced, and advanced techniques such as tripod usage and weak side shooting will be explored. An emphasis will be placed on proper organization in both stage planning and equipment handling mechanics, and shooters will complete multiple timed stages.
